Online Winter CTF Challenge!

Jigme Namgyel Engineering College Shines in the Online Winter CTF Challenge! Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions are one of the most exciting ways to learn, test, and sharpen cybersecurity skills. Participants work through challenges to uncover hidden “flags” within target environments, making it an exciting and hands-on experience. This winter, the Bhutan CIRT division of the Government Technology (GovTech) Agency, Royal Government of Bhutan organized an online CTF challenge for students from JNEC, GCIT, and CST. The event began with an expert-led session from BtCIRT, equipping participants with valuable knowledge on cybersecurity tools, techniques, and strategies for tackling CTF challenges. The competition ran from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM on 20/12/2024, and the energy was intense! We are proud to announce that JNEC Visionaries, one of our student teams, secured an incredible 2nd place, showcasing their skills and determination. Their achievement is especially commendable as they excelled in a field with strong competition, including degree-level students. We also celebrate the efforts of our seven other teams, six of whom ranked within the top 15 out of 23 teams. A heartfelt thanks to the BtCIRT division of the GovTech Agency for organizing this memorable event. We are already looking forward to next year’s challenge! Let’s continue to make JNEC proud!
