Training of Trainers

From 9th - 10th August 2025, Jigme Namgyel Engineering College (JNEC) successfully conducted a Training of Trainers program for focal persons from six Dzongkhags under the APNIC Foundation-funded project "Enhancing Digital Literacy and Cybersecurity Awareness in Eastern Bhutan", in collaboration with the Government Technology (GovTech) Agency, Royal Government of Bhutan. This intensive 2-day program combined cybersecurity awareness, hands-on digital literacy sessions, and specialized tracks on Google Workspace tools and Networking with IPv6. The goal was to prepare these local champions to lead workshops and awareness programs in schools, monasteries, and sub-districts across Eastern Bhutan. Post-Workshop Survey Highlights: • Overall Quality – Over 92% rated the workshop Excellent or Good. • Improved Understanding – More than 95% reported a significant improvement in cybersecurity knowledge. • Future Interest – Participants requested further training on advanced cybersecurity, social media safety, and emerging digital tools. Next Steps: Our trained focal persons will now support the upcoming Digital Literacy Workshops (Activity 3) and Awareness Campaigns (Activity 4) in their respective Dzongkhags. The project team will also engage with monasteries and gewogs to expand the program’s impact, ensuring safe and informed digital engagement for all. A heartfelt thank you to all participants, our project team, and partners for making this a success. Together, we are building a digitally empowered and cyber-aware Eastern Bhutan.
