RStudio Workshop

Date: February 20, 2025 Venue: DIT, OCR II Speaker: Dr. Max Trauernicht We had an insightful and hands-on RStudio Workshop led by Dr. Max Trauernicht, where our final-year students explored data analysis and statistical techniques—critical skills for cybersecurity research and beyond! Exploring RStudio for Cybersecurity Awareness Analysis Participants worked with real pre- and post-workshop datasets to analyze trends in cybersecurity perception. The session covered: Data structuring & manipulation – Cleaning and preparing datasets Visualization techniques – Creating meaningful graphs and charts Statistical testing – Assessing improvements in cybersecurity awareness Gender-based comparisons – Identifying key differences in perception Correlation analysis – Understanding relationships between various factors Interactive Learning & Hands-on Practice Students applied statistical methods to real-world cybersecurity data, gaining valuable skills for research and future projects. This workshop reinforced the importance of data-driven decision-making in cybersecurity. Tea Break Conversations with Dr. Max A refreshing tea break allowed students to have one-on-one discussions with Dr. Max, exploring deeper insights into: RStudio’s practical applications Career opportunities in data science Advanced statistical techniques Wrapping Up – Key Takeaways & Reflections The session concluded with a group photo, capturing the spirit of learning and collaboration.
