As part of the APNIC Foundationโfunded project โEnhancing Digital Literacy and Cybersecurity Awareness in Eastern Bhutanโ, the Department of Information Technology-JNEC, in collaboration with the GovTech Agency, has officially kicked off.
๐จ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ 3: ๐ซ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ณ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐พ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐จ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ 4: ๐จ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ช๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐/๐๐/๐๐๐๐ Our first outreach was held at Wangphu Gewog, where more than 250 community members (mostly villagers) actively participated in discussions on online safety and digital practices. This was followed by a successful workshop at Orong Central School, engaging over 500 participants, with the majority being students alongside teachers. Both sessions focused on: - Hands-on digital literacy skills -Cybersecurity awareness, including phishing, scams, safe social media use, and cyber hygiene. ๐พ๐๐๐โ๐ ๐ต๐๐๐? Over the coming weeks, the project team and trained facilitators now extend these workshops and campaigns to schools, monasteries, and gewogs in: 1. Pemagatshel Nangkor Central School Thonphu Goenpa Nganglam Drungkhag 2. Mongar Mongar HSS Yakpogang Anim Dingrim Shedra Khengkhar Gewog 3. Trashigang Jampeling HSS Kanglung Thorim Wongma Shedra Sakteng Gewog 4. Trashiyangtse Bayling HSS Trashi Yangtse Dratsang Yangtse Gewog, Rinchengang Village 5. Lhuntse Lhuentse HSS Lhuentse Dratsang Gangzur Gewog Together, we aim to empower Bhutanese communities with the skills to navigate the digital world safely, inclusively, and confidently.
