Digital Literacy & Cyber Security Awareness Training

The first Digital Literacy and Cyber Security Awareness training session for students, based on the JAD-developed curriculum.

The Department of Information Technology-JNEC, Jigme Namgyel Engineering College successfully conducted the first Digital Literacy and Cyber Security Awareness training session for students, based on the JAD-developed curriculum. This pilot program aimed to assess participant engagement and effectiveness before expanding to other areas in the eastern region of Bhutan. Key Achievements: 91.7% of participants rated the training as excellent (5) or very good (4). 95.8% found the duration sufficient... 100% stated the content was easy to understand and the training methods were engaging. 95.8% agreed the topics were relevant to their daily digital interactions. 100% reported learning immediately applicable skills, such as using two-factor authentication (2FA) and recognizing scams. Cybersecurity threats, digital security, scams, and online services were highlighted as the most useful topics. Participants suggested adding AI and digital identity management, along with more interactive sessions. Looking Ahead: With the positive response from this pilot program, we look forward to expanding the initiative to reach more audiences in the region. Capacity Building Training: In addition to this, the APNIC team conducted a Capacity Building Training on IPv6 and Cyber Security, further strengthening our technical expertise and enhancing the overall impact of this project.
